Woman of Wonder presents to Friends Eating and Studying Together (FEAST)
Carol Doane speaks Wednesday, November 6 at First Presbyterian Church Vancouver during their Wednesday night dinner event: Friends Eating and Studying Together (FEAST).
She’ll be covering a range of topics including what inspired her to start the nonprofit Woman of Wonder, what the organization believes in, and why now is the time to action on women’s education.
Carol Doane attended more than one college before she finished her degree: Clark College in Vancouver, a summer at Spokane Community College, a year in Europe at the University of Vienna in Vienna, Austria, and she graduated cum laude from a private college in Oregon – Linfield College.
She holds two majors, one in Piano Performance and the other in German. With those two promising degrees in hand, she eagerly (or errantly) jumped into a career in advertising. She’s worked at The Columbian, KGW-TV, and now at The Oregonian/OregonLive.
How did a career in advertising lead Carol to start a nonprofit that provides college scholarships for women?
